  • The day after the kiss

    Tuesday 21 October
Breakfast time - slightly awkward....To be continued...

  • From the beginning - the first kiss

    This is how it happened...
    Monday 20 October
I blagged a free SMART car to drive to Southampton in privacy If I'm gonna make a move, or he is, then we don't want to do it on a public train.
I took a tube to his nearest station, becaause the motorway out of London goes from near his house. In my bag was a very random selection of CDs because he had asked me to bring my fave tunes for the journey. It took me about an hour to choose - he works at NME so he's a man of high musical standards.
I started with a random selection of party songs - he wasnt that impressed. Rolling Stones greatest hits - acceptable. Pussycat Dolls - he hated it. And then we found one of Razorlight's older ones and he loved it and sang along. Phew!
The weather was absolutely terrible for power boating and the smart car was even getting blown across the road. But when we got there, we found we had some lessons in the classroom, which we quite dull.
I think both of us were disappointed - we had driven down to southampton to sit in a boring classroom and the weather was terrible. And we didnt even get any lunch. I took full advantage of a twix offered at coffee break (showbiz journos grab food coz we never know when we are gonna eat next), but NME man didnt and he didnt even have any breakfast!
After four hours of lessons, the instructor felt sorry for us and said he would take us for a boat trip in the rain. We couldnt drive ourselves coz it was too windy and rainy, but at least we were getting some thrills and spills.
We came back thoroughly cold and wet and drove across Southampton to our hotel. There was a low moment at check0in time when the receptionist said a spare room had become available and did we want it? We looked at each other, NME man goes 'I might snore' so I said 'Lets take the spare room' (and kicked myself lots). He goes into his room to start writing his article and I go into my room alone. Arrrgh.
We meet up about an hour and a half later for drinks. Id had a sleep and freshened up. And we decide to explore a bit of the city (even tho I'm still walking with a limp coz of my bad ankle). We get to a waterfront area by Southampton docks and pause to look at some boats. I take his arm and tell him I'm not under the umbrella. He moves closer to let me under the umbrella and I just grabbed his face and kissed him. He didnt pull away, which I was really worried he would.
We held the kiss, I pulled away and he pulled me back, placing his umbrella-free but still gloved hand on my back. It was magical. I havent been kissed by a tall boy in ages and i felt so small and protected.
Then he pulled away, grinned and said 'I wasn't expecting that, it feels like we are in a movie set.' It did, so we kissed again until we noticed it was very wet and rainy.
We moved in to an old man's pub and I ordered a double jd and diet coke to calm the butterflies in my stomach and try to keep cool. Inside I wanted to scream 'I've kissed this gorgeous man'. He had a pint, we sat closely on the sofa (he wanted to kiss but I dont do public kissing). Then we played pool. He beat me two-one in a best of three situation but I didnt even care even though I am quite competitive. We were a team...(pass the sick bucket)
We went back to the hotel for a delicious dinner, where we gazed into each others eyes, had a nightcap in the bar and went back to his room. It was explosive!
But then I had a dillemma. When it came to actual sleeping -should I stay in the bed or should I move to my own room. According to THE RULES you dont want to give away too much on the first date.
But then I decided to stay. I was weak but I hadnt had a tall, big man next to me for ages and it felt so cuddly.
It was lovely to wake up next to him. Then I went back to my room to get changed and it was breakfast time....

  • Back from Australia

    Monday 24 November
Havent updated for a while for two reasons
    (1) Been busy on hols in Australia
    (2) Been busy with NME man
But (2) is bad as well as good.
I'm gonna try and WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING (or at least a lot) tomorrow. There's a lot to catch up on. The highs, the lows and the bits in between.
But can I just say NME man regularly (but not always) kisses me in text messages now - yay, it's a start!
We have kissed lots in real-life - double yay!
And he bought me champagne when he came over for a Sunday lunch - yay, for a man that pays attention to what a girl likes.
